What this deployment is actually doing

Some settings change what the app DOES simply by being absent — no error, no warning. This is the honest read.

antivirus magic-byte checks only — clamd NOT configured
CLAMD_HOST is unset, so uploads get type/magic checks but no virus scan
ai provider grok
crawl schedule off for the demo — not running
crawl spend cap off for the demo — uncapped
mail poll every 60 min
vessel timezone not set — dates use UTC
SHIPSLOG_VESSEL_TZ is unset, so a due date is judged against UTC — on a vessel ahead of UTC an invoice can read as due tomorrow for the last hours of today
device binding NOT required — unset
SHIPSLOG_DEVICE_BINDING_REQUIRED is unset, so it defaults OFF — sessions are not device-bound and nothing on any screen says so
push delivery NO SIGNING KEY — push cannot send
SHIPSLOG_VAPID_PRIVATE_KEY is unset, so every push silently fails: briefings and tag notifications are composed, delivered nowhere, and reported as sent to nobody
ai zero-retention required
secret source deploy environment

Storage

Server disk space, and the temporary files that large uploads use while sending. If an upload gets stuck at 0%, clearing these usually frees it up.

Checking…

Dropbox copies. Preview lists. Run waits until Dropbox has the bytes, then removes the second local copy. Does not delete records. Crew stay on the boat.

Your boat. Your data.

First day

A short walk through Capture, Review, Logs, and Ask.

Crew top bar

Search finds logs, library, and equipment. Ask 2.0 answers from this vessel's register.

Chat-first landing · founder beta

Open straight into a conversation with Meridian instead of the capture screen — ask-first, everything else still a tap away. This changes only YOUR account; the crew keep the classic screens.

Vessel & passphrase

Defaults to the vessel name. This is the name the Ask feature will use once full search of every record is switched on — until then the button just reads “Ask Meridian”.

Vessel config passphrase (bootstrap / recovery)

The vessel-level config secret used at first run, and as the founder's fallback until he sets his own login passphrase above. It does not log anyone in once each captain has their own.

Captain accounts

Operator: Captain (you). A relieving or additional captain gets their OWN account with their OWN passphrase — their private notes and question history stay separate from yours, and even you never learn their passphrase. Create the account, then share the one-time setup link so they set it themselves. Changing who the operator is is a deploy-level setting, not a button here.

Reference library assets

After the 12 Aug ask fix, manuals are tagged vessel or tender from their file path and title. Existing library rows still need one re-tag pass so tender PDFs stop living under the mother vessel.

Only changes docs still marked vessel-default; explicit tags stay. Flash shows how many moved.
