Weekly emergency fire pump test

Emergency fire pump · Engine room · Logged 2026-08-24 by Captain

The weekly run that keeps the emergency fire pump proven and the ISM record current.

Confirm the pump's seachest and suction valve are open
Start the pump locally and from the remote (fire-control) station in turn
Open a test hydrant; confirm pressure holds on both hydrants tested
Run for five minutes; check for leaks, overheating, and normal discharge
Secure the pump; return valves to the sea-ready state
Log the test, pressures, and any defect here for the ISM record
